Commemorating 80th Anniversary of the Sacrifice of Mr. Phan Van Khoe, Former Nam Ky Regional Party Secretary
(DTO) On the morning of March 21, Tan Phu Commune, Dong Thap Province, solemnly held a ceremony marking the 80th death anniversary (1946–2026) of Mr. Phan Van Khoe, former Secretary of the Nam Ky Regional Party Committee.
Attending the ceremony were Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Dong Thap People’s Council; former leaders of the Cai Lay District Party Committee, Cai Lay Town Party Committee, Tan Phuoc District Party Committee; and relatives of Comrade Phan Van Khoe.
Mr. Phan Van Khoe was born in 1901 in My Hanh Dong Village, Cai Lay District, My Tho Province (now Tan Phu Commune, Dong Thap Province). Born into a colonized nation, he early on embraced revolutionary ideals, participating in activities from 1928 and becoming one of the first members of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the locality in 1930.

Throughout his revolutionary career, he held many important positions, including Deputy Secretary of My Tho Provincial Party Committee, Member of the Nam Ky Regional Party Committee, Secretary of My Tho Provincial Party Committee, and Secretary of the Nam Ky Regional Party Committee. In every position, he demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility, steadfast ideals, and made significant contributions to the development of the revolutionary movement.

Notably, Mr. Phan Van Khoe was one of the individuals who directly supervised the design of the Red Flag with a Yellow Star, which is now the National Flag of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This historic milestone carries profound significance, reflecting his vision and immense contributions to the Vietnamese Revolution. Despite being captured, imprisoned, and tortured by the enemy, he maintained the integrity of a Communist. On March 7, 1946, he heroically sacrificed his life, leaving behind a shining example of loyalty and indomitable spirit.

In recognition of his contributions to the Vietnamese Revolution, on May 30, 1998, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam posthumously awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order to Mr. Phan Van Khoe.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Do, deputy Secretary of the Tan Phu Commune Party Committee and Chairman of the Tan Phu Commune People’s Committee, pledged that the Party organization and local authorities would continue to uphold revolutionary traditions, enhance responsibility, and devote themselves to serving the people, striving to build Tan Phu into an increasingly developed, civilized, and compassionate locality.
