Deputy Secretary Chau Thi My Phuong Holds Working Session with Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio, Television

(DTO) On the morning of June 18, Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of Dong Thap’s National Assembly Delegation, together with members of the working delegation, visited and held a working session with Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio, Television.

At the meeting, Ms. Ngo Thi Ngoc Hanh, Editor-in-Chief of Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio, Television, presented a report on the agency’s performance during the first six months of 2026. Nearly one year after the merger, the agency has gradually stabilized its organizational structure, maintained effective media operations, and continued to fulfill its reporting and communication responsibilities in support of the province’s political tasks.

Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio, Television has continued to innovate both the format and content of its communications across various media platforms. According to the report, Dong Thap Television Channel 1 remains among the most-watched local television channels in the country, while the agency’s digital media ecosystem continues to grow, recording positive increases in audience reach and engagement. These efforts have helped promote the image, potential, and development achievements of Dong Thap Province to a broad audience.

Alongside these achievements, the agency also reported several challenges related to financial mechanisms, declining advertising revenue, broadcasting transmission costs, print newspaper distribution, the development of economic and technical norms, financial autonomy mechanisms, and investment in facilities and equipment to support professional operations. The agency also proposed that relevant authorities continue providing support to address these difficulties and create favorable conditions for the successful fulfillment of its assigned tasks.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary Chau Thi My Phuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the agency’s unity and determination in overcoming challenges. Despite the difficulties following the restructuring and merger process, the agency has proactively adapted, maintained stable operations, and successfully carried out its assigned political responsibilities. 

She urged Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio, Television to continue strengthening its role as the official voice of the province’s Party organization and as a bridge between the Party and the people. She emphasized the need to further improve the quality of communication efforts, helping bring Party guidelines and State policies and laws into practice while providing timely reflections of social realities to support leadership and direction of Party committees and local authorities. 

Regarding the agency’s recommendations, Deputy Secretary Chau Thi My Phuong requested relevant departments and agencies to coordinate in reviewing and proposing appropriate solutions in accordance with legal regulations. She also called for continued support in developing economic and technical norms, implementing financial autonomy mechanisms, and ensuring adequate operating conditions, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of reporting and communication work in the new context.
