Dong Thap Border Guard Command and Prey Veng Provincial Police Sign 2026 Cooperation Agreement

(DTO) – On June 16, a delegation from the Dong Thap Provincial Border Guard Command, led by Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hoa, Commander of the Dong Thap Provincial Border Guard Command,  visited Prey Veng Province, Cambodia, for talks with the Prey Veng Provincial Police to review cooperation results in 2025 and outline cooperation plans for 2026

During the talks, the two sides evaluated their coordination in border management, border protection, and the maintenance of security and public order in the border area throughout 2025.

Accordingly, the two forces held 12 direct meetings involving over 130 officials, exchanged information 70 times, and jointly conducted 17 bilateral patrols with nearly 400 officers and soldiers covering nearly 140 kilometers of the shared border. They also organized legal awareness and education activities for more than 10,000 residents living in border areas.

Immigration control was carried out strictly, facilitating cross-border travel and trade for local residents and businesses.

The two sides processed immigration procedures for nearly 98,000 travelers, more than 5,000 vehicles, and over one million tons of goods crossing the border. They also coordinated in handling three cases of illegal border crossings involving 95 violators.

In addition, the two forces regularly organized mutual visits and exchanges on the occasion of traditional festivals and national holidays in both countries, further strengthening friendship and cooperation.

Military-civilian medical clinics in border areas provided examination and treatment services to more than 393 Cambodian patients during the year.

On this occasion, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining close coordination in safeguarding political security and social order in border areas, while creating favorable conditions for residents on both sides of the border to travel, visit relatives, conduct trade activities, and access healthcare services.
