Dong Thap Chairman Inspects Preparations for Boarding School Construction in Border Areas
(DTO) On the morning of March 17, Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, led a provincial delegation to inspect the border patrol road and preparations for the commencement of multi-level boarding schools (Primary and Lower Secondary) in the mainland border area. The delegation included Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu, along with leaders from the Provincial Border Guard and relevant departments and sectors.

In Thuong Phuoc Commune, the delegation conducted a field inspection of the preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Thuong Phuoc Multi-level Boarding School. Following this, the group surveyed the Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate, inspected the border patrol road in Thuong Phuoc Commune and Thuong Lac Ward, and surveyed the Moc Ra Border Gate area in Hong Ngu Ward.

At each location, the delegation received reports on the progress of preparations for the boarding schools' construction, the current status of the border patrol road, and other routes leading to the border within the province. Local units proposed that the province prioritize investment in repairing and upgrading degraded road sections to ensure the effective fulfillment of duties coupled with infrastructure development in border areas.

Speaking at the inspection, Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai requested the Regional Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 1 to take the lead and coordinate with relevant units to meticulously prepare all conditions and ensure safety for the groundbreaking ceremonies of these school sites on March 19.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Border Guard, Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai extended his regards and congratulations to officers and soldiers, while urging them to continue effectively performing their duties in managing and safeguarding national border sovereignty, maintaining security and order, and contributing to socio-economic development in border areas.
On the afternoon of the same day, the delegation continued its inspection of the border patrol road passing through Hong Ngu Ward and Tan Ho Co Commune. They also surveyed the Dinh Ba International Border Gate and potential sites for boarding schools in Tan Thanh, Tan Ho Co, and Tan Hong communes.
Following the inspection, Provincial Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai assigned the Regional Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 1 to coordinate with relevant units to urgently finalize procedures regarding capital sources, planning, design, and site clearance to ensure project progress and quality. Additionally, he tasked departments and sectors with researching and proposing investment plans for the construction of the Dinh Ba Bridge, as well as surveying and formulating investment reports for the maintenance and preservation of border patrol routes.
