Dong Thap Delegation Visits CP Center of Excellence (CP COE) in Thailand
(DTO) On the morning of May 29, during its official visit to Thailand, the delegation from Dong Thap Province, led by Mr. Phan Van Thang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap Province, visited and held a working session with the CP Center of Excellence (CP COE), the innovation hub of the Charoen Pokphand Group.
The delegation was received by Mr. Montri Suwanposri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Chinoros Benjachavakul, Senior Vice President; and Ms. Le Nhat Thuy, Senior Vice President of C.P. Vietnam Livestock Corporation.

Operating under an “Open Innovation” model, the center provides an open environment for research, technology experimentation, training, and the development of innovative solutions serving both production and daily life.
In addition to its modern laboratories and co-working spaces tailored for startups, experts, and researchers, CP COE collaborates with leading global technology companies and universities, including Huawei, IBM, and Tencent, as well as numerous Thai research organizations.
Through practical training programs, applied research, and international cooperation, the center drives Thailand’s strategy of developing technology enterprises and fostering an innovation-driven economy.

During the visit, Deputy Secretary Phan Van Thang shared that, amid emerging development trends, the province is pivoting from an “agricultural production mindset” to an “agribusiness economy mindset,” with value addition, innovation, and technology serving as the bedrock of growth.
He noted that Dong Thap is particularly focused on two strategic priorities: applying science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation to advance deep processing and elevate the value of agricultural products, while also developing a highly skilled workforce.
On this occasion, the delegation also expressed interest in learning more about the operational models of innovation ecosystems and the mechanisms linking startups, scientists, and major corporations to effectively commercialize technological ideas.

Representatives of the center said that CP COE is envisioned as a leading innovation ecosystem in the region, serving as a bridge among businesses, research institutes, universities, and global technology partners to promote scientific research, technological applications, innovation, and human resource development.
Currently, CP COE focuses its research and innovation efforts on a wide range of advanced technologies, including biotechnology, artificial intelligence and robotics (AI & Robotics), digital technology, data and cloud computing, clean technology (Clean Tech), space technology (Space Tech), and agricultural technology (AgriTech).
The two sides exchanged practical insights and discussed potential cooperation opportunities in science and technology, innovation, human resource development, digital transformation, and high-tech agriculture between Dong Thap Province and Thai partners in the coming years.
