Dong Thap establishes thematic research unit under Provincial Party Committee

(DTO) The Standing Board of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee on July 10 issued Decision No. 819 establishing the Dong Thap Thematic Research Unit. This strategic advisory body operates directly under the Provincial Party Committee, set up in accordance with Conclusion No. 41 dated June 3, 2026, by the Politburo and the Secretariat.

The unit is personally directed and headed by Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. The Deputy Heads comprise the Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee.

The unit is tasked with advising the Standing Committee, the Standing Board, and the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on strategic matters. Its responsibilities include proposing breakthrough guidelines, mechanisms, policies, and solutions for key provincial priorities and flagship projects; formulating major blueprints, resolutions, and programs in critical sectors; and organizing seminars and scientific conferences to advance research, forecasting, and policy formulation.

The unit is headquartered at the Office of the Provincial Party Committee and is authorized to use the committee's official seal. Members assigned to the unit will retain the administrative status, benefits, and entitlements of their previous positions. The Organization Commission of the Provincial Party Committee has been tasked with drafting the unit's organizational and operational regulations for upcoming issuance.

The establishment of the Thematic Research Unit underscores the determination of the Provincial Party Committee to enhance the quality of strategic advisory work, meeting the demands of leadership and oversight in the province's new stage of development.
