Dong Thap: Meeting to Commemorate the 96th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2026) and Celebrate Spring Binh Ngo 2026

(DTO) On the morning of February 3, the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap Province solemnly held a meeting to commemorate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026) and to celebrate Spring Binh Ngo 2026.

Attending the event were current and former leaders of Central ministries and agencies, including: Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, former Deputy Minister of National Defense, and Chairman of the Dong Thap Homeland Liaison Association; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, and former Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee for Social Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Minh Son, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee; alongside Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.

Representing the current and former leaders of Dong Thap Province were: Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Dong Thap National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Huynh Van Niem, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission, former Provincial Party Secretary; Mr. Vo Hong Nhan, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Ideology and Culture, former Provincial Party Secretary; Mr. Huynh Minh Doan, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Southwest Region, former Provincial Party Secretary; Ms. Tran Thi Kim Cuc, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Provincial Party Secretary; Mr. Tran The Ngoc, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Provincial Party Secretary; Mr. Le Vinh Tan, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Minister of Home Affairs, former Provincial Party Secretary; Mr. Nguyen Van Danh, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Provincial Party Secretary, former Head of the Dong Thap National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Phan Van Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap Province; Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; along with former provincial leaders across different periods, generals of the armed forces, and representatives of the Standing Committees of Party Committees of communes and wards throughout the province.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the glorious historical traditions of the Communist Party of Vietnam through 96 years of construction, growth, and development.

On February 3, 1930, guided by the light of Marxism-Leninism and the nation's profound aspiration for independence and freedom, President Ho Chi Minh founded the Communist Party of Vietnam. This momentous event marked a great historical turning point for the nation, ending a prolonged crisis in the organization and direction of the Vietnamese revolution.

Through 96 glorious springs, under the leadership of the glorious Party, the Vietnamese revolution has advanced from one victory to another, writing heroic chapters of history marked by intellect, resilience, and the aspiration to master the destiny of the nation.

Delegates also watched a video summarizing outstanding achievements in Party building, socio-economic development, national defense, and security in 2025, as well as key tasks for 2026 in Dong Thap Province.

Authorized by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Dong Thap provincial leaders present the First-Class Labor Order to Mr. Nguyen Van Danh, former Member of the Party Central Committee and former Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee.

In his address, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong emphasized that 2026 holds special significance as the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 1st Dong Thap Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term.

With the motto “Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Breakthrough – Development,” he called on all levels, sectors, and localities to further enhance responsibility awareness and unity, promote achieved results, resolutely overcome limitations, proactively remove difficulties and obstacles, and improve leadership, direction, management, and implementation capacity to meet and exceed assigned targets for 2026.

Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong stressed the need for every Party organization, cadre, and Party member to thoroughly grasp and implement the Party’s leadership orientation under the principle:

“Discipline is the foundation – Responsibility is the driving force – Innovation is the key – Success is the destination.” Each individual must uphold a strong sense of responsibility, ensuring that words go hand in hand with actions, working with integrity, vision, and tangible results.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee awarded Party Badges from 40 years of Party membership and above to former Members of the Party Central Committee, former Standing Members of the Provincial Party Committee, former members of the Provincial Standing Committee, former Provincial Party Committee members, generals, and Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces.

At the same time, authorized by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong presented the First-Class Labor Order to Mr. Nguyen Van Danh, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Provincial Party Secretary, and former Head of the Dong Thap National Assembly Delegation.
