(DTO) On January 10 and 11, the Dong Thap Provincial Military Command organized a briefing and dissemination of the Law on the Reserve Force, along with policies and entitlements applicable to non-commissioned officers and soldiers scheduled for discharge in 2026.

Accordingly, 512 non-commissioned officers and soldiers from units under the Provincial Military Command were briefed by representatives of the Military Personnel Division from the Staff Department of the Provincial Military Command on key provisions of the 2019 Law on the Reserve Forces passed by the National Assembly.

A representative from the Dong Thap Employment Service Center provides career counseling and employment information to service members.

The purpose of building a strong and high-quality reserve force is to ensure a capable core component for national defense tasks; to strengthen the nation’s combined strength in firmly safeguarding independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; to protect the people, the Party, the State, and the socialist regime; to safeguard the innovation process, industrialization and modernization efforts, and national interests; to preserve national cultural values; and to maintain a peaceful, politically stable, and secure environment. After discharge, non-commissioned officers and soldiers will be registered, managed, and assigned to reserve units, ready to reinforce the standing forces of the Vietnam People's Army when required.

In 2026, with the continued care of the Party, the State, and the Army for citizens fulfilling their sacred duty of defending the country, discharged non-commissioned officers and soldiers will receive various special benefits and entitlements, including a one-time discharge allowance, job-creation allowance, social insurance allowance, Lunar New Year gifts, and travel support. The total amount each soldier receives upon discharge exceeds 35 million VND. In addition, every service member is entitled to vocational training support through a vocational training card covering nearly 30 million VND in tuition fees.

Non-commissioned officers and soldiers of Regiment BB320 under the Provincial Military Command attentively follow the briefing on discharge benefits and entitlements.

On this occasion, the Dong Thap Employment Service Center and Tay Do College (Can Tho City) also partnered with units to provide career guidance, hold exchanges, and listen to service members’ concerns in order to offer advice and address questions related to vocational training and employment opportunities.
