Dong Thap: Over 47,400 delegates attend Political and Ideological Session

(DTO) On the morning of March 27, the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee organized a political and ideological session themed "Promoting the Cultural Strength of Dong Thap People; Enhancing the Responsibility of Officials and Party Members; Building a Culture of Integrity Following Ho Chi Minh's Thought, Morality, and Style." 

Professor Dr. Dinh Xuan Dung, former Vice Chairman of the Central Council for the Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art, presented the specialized report.

The conference was held across the province in both in-person and online formats, connecting 622 venues with more than 47,470 participants. The central venue at Ap Bac Hall, the Provincial Conference Center, hosted nearly 400 delegates in attendance.

Attending the central venue were Mr. Phan Van Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; and Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Professor Dr. Dinh Xuan Dung presented two main contents. Part one: Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style on promoting cultural strength, enhancing responsibility, and building a culture of integrity. Part two: The urgency, viewpoints, goals, tasks, and solutions to promote the cultural strength of Dong Thap people; enhancing the responsibility of officials and Party members, and building a culture of integrity following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style.

This political and ideological session serves as an opportunity for the entire Provincial Party Organization to continue raising awareness, unifying will and action, and vigorously promoting the cultural values and people of Dong Thap. This contributes to building a healthy cultural environment, consolidating social moral foundations, and developing a contingent of officials and Party members with firm political mettle, pure ethics, and a lifestyle of "Diligence, Thrift, Integrity, Righteousness, Public-spiritedness, and Selflessness." 

This meets the requirements for preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity in the new era, creating a clear and substantive transformation, and making the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style a regular and self-conscious practice.

Speaking at the session, Mr. Phan Van Thang stated that Dong Thap Province has focused on building culture and people, identifying the promotion of cultural value systems as the internal strength to build and promote the local image. It serves as the driver for innovation, creating breakthroughs in the thinking and methods of both the political system and the people.

Mr. Phan Van Thang emphasized that promoting the cultural strength of Dong Thap people, enhancing the responsibility of officials and Party members, and building a culture of integrity according to Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style is not a new topic, but an increasingly high and urgent requirement. It demands more substantive and drastic implementation, closely linked to individual responsibility, especially the responsibility of the heads of organizations.

To ensure the high-quality and substantive implementation of the province's 2026 political and ideological theme, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requests all Party committees, party organizations, administrations, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations to focus on leading and directing the serious study of the 2026 Theme among officials, Party members, and the people. This must ensure a unified awareness and synchronized action, overcoming superficial and generic learning that lacks depth and practical application.

Mr. Phan Van Thang requested that leadership and management teams at all levels—particularly heads of organizations—must uphold their exemplary roles in responsibility, ethics, lifestyle, and work style. This is considered a mandatory requirement and a vital criterion for evaluating officials and Party members, integrated with the implementation of Regulation 144 dated May 9, 2024, of the Politburo regarding the revolutionary ethical standards for officials and Party members in the new era.
