Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Attends Meeting of the Party Executive Committee of the Provincial Police Department

(DTO) On February 3, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, together with Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, attended and provided guidance at the meeting of the Party Executive Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department.

Reports presented at the meeting indicated that in 2025, amid the implementation of the two-tier local government model, the Party Committee of the Provincial Police closely followed the resolutions, programs, plans, and assigned tasks.

Party building, force building, logistics, and technical work continued to receive due attention.

The effectiveness of Party work has had a positive impact on professional operations; political security has been maintained, social order and safety have shown positive improvements, effectively serving the province’s socio-economic development and external relations goals.

A highlight was the proactive prevention, combat, and effective handling of various crimes and legal violations. 

Social order crimes decreased by 37.9% compared to 2024. The discovery rate for very serious and particularly serious cases reached 90.8%. Additionally, 100% of crime reports and denunciations were received, with a resolution rate of 90.9%. Notably, 21 communes and wards were successfully established as drug-free zones.

Deputy Secretary Pham Thanh Ngai acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements of the Provincial Police, particularly the effective implementation of five new tasks of the sector since the adoption of the two-tier local government model.

He emphasized that the police force should continue to strengthen political and ideological work, and develop appropriate training and capacity-building plans to further build a strong and capable force in the coming period.

Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai stressed that the Provincial People’s Committee would continue to accompany, support, and create favorable conditions for the Provincial Police to effectively implement measures to ensure security and public order, thereby contributing to local stability and socio-economic development.

Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong acknowledged the proposals put forward by the Provincial Police aimed at addressing difficulties and building a clean and strong force.

He requested the entire sector to remain vigilant, maintain a firm grasp of the situation at the grassroots level, and pay close attention to border security, cybersecurity, and industrial security, ensuring no passivity or surprise in any situation.
