Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong Calls for Stronger Border Economic Development
(DTT) On the morning of August 19, a delegation from the Standing Board of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, led by Ngo Chi Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - conducted a field survey and working session in Hong Ngu Ward.
The delegation included leaders from the Provincial Party Committee's Commission for Propaganda, Education and Mass Mobilization, and Commission for Internal Affairs, alongside representatives from the Provincial People's Committee and various provincial departments.

In Hong Ngu Ward, the delegation inspected the construction progress of the Hong Ngu Boarding Primary and Lower Secondary School. They also surveyed the Moc Ra Auxiliary Border Gate, the Border Gate Economic Zone, an aquatic resource conservation model, a date palm ecological garden, local pangasius farming areas, and the Binh Thanh Border Guard Station.
At each site, the delegation heard operational updates from relevant units, focusing on current advantages, difficulties, and specific bottlenecks that require resolution.

Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong urged provincial departments and local authorities to prioritize the border economy. Key focus areas should include upgrading transport infrastructure, promoting eco-tourism, expanding import-export activities, and leveraging the strengths of the agricultural sector - particularly the export-oriented pangasius industry. Concurrently, maintaining national defense and security in border areas remains a top priority.

According to the schedule, the delegation will continue its field trips to Tan Ho Co and Thuong Phuoc communes through August 20 to promptly assess socio-economic development, national defense, and security across Dong Thap's border regions.
