Ensuring that the election is conducted safely, democratically, and in accordance with the law

(DTO) On the afternoon of February 2, at the Hall of the Lap Vo Commune People's Committee, Inspection Team No. 13 of the Dong Thap Provincial Steering Committee for the Election of Deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term (referred to as the Provincial Election Steering Committee) conducted an inspection of election preparations at Electoral Units No. 11 and 12. 

The delegation was led by Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Police.

Accordingly, Electoral Units No. 11 and 12 include the communes of Lap Vo, Lai Vung, Hoa Long, Tan Khanh Trung, and My An Hung.

Recently, Party Committees, People’s Committees, Commune Election Committees, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees, and socio-political organizations in these localities have proactively implemented all tasks in accordance with regulations; completed the establishment of the Election Steering Committee, Election Committees, Subcommittees, Support Teams, and Election Boards; identified voting locations; and reviewed and prepared voter lists following the required procedures and regulations.

Additionally, communication, awareness campaigns, public security measures, and facilities preparation have been carried out synchronously, meeting the requirements set forth.

Specifically, Lap Vo Commune has 9 electoral units, electing 28 deputies across 31 voting stations; Lai Vung Commune has 10 electoral units, electing 30 deputies across 28 voting stations; Hoa Long Commune has 8 electoral units, electing 28 deputies across 24 voting stations; Tan Khanh Trung Commune has 8 electoral units, electing 24 deputies across 17 voting stations; My An Hung Commune has 8 electoral units, electing 25 deputies across 29 voting stations.

During the inspection, Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen acknowledged the proactive efforts of local Party committees and authorities in preparing for the election, ensuring compliance with plans and legal requirements.

He also requested localities to finalize reports, issue working regulations, and assign specific responsibilities to members of the Election Steering Committee and Election Committees in these communes.

Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen further emphasized that localities must thoroughly review key stages of the election process, especially the compilation and public posting of voter lists, enhance public communication efforts, and ensure public security so that the election proceeds safely, democratically, lawfully, and truly becomes a festival of the people.
