General Nguyen Trong Nghia pays tribute at Go Cong Martyrs’ Cemetery

(DTO) On the afternoon of April 17, during his working visit to Dong Thap, General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission and Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - visited and offered incense at Go Cong Martyrs' Cemetery (Tan Dong Commune).

Joining the delegation were Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Thap People’s Committee, and Major General Ngo Minh Thuan, Commander of Corps 20 and Chairman and General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation, among others.

At the ceremony, General Nguyen Trong Nghia and the delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense, expressing profound gratitude and deep respect for the heroic martyrs who devoted their youth and sacrificed their lives in the struggle to defend the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The delegation observed a moment of silence and lit incense at individual graves in tribute to the fallen soldiers resting at the cemetery.

They also laid wreaths and offered incense at the Go Cong Martyrs’ Temple, as well as at the mausoleum, temple and monument dedicated to national hero Truong Dinh.
