(DTO) On April 22, the Party Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Military Command held a conference reviewing 10 years (2016-2026) of implementing Resolution No. 984 of the Central Military Commission and the Military Region Party Committee on improving the quality and effectiveness of military history work.
Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee, chaired the conference.

Over the past 10 years, the Provincial Military Party Committee has thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented directives and resolutions from higher levels. It has effectively promoted the advisory role of specialized agencies in researching and compiling military history, ensuring the objectivity, scientific basis, and reliability of published works.

The province has published 32 military history works, effectively applied in promoting traditions, passing on leadership and command experience, training, and exercises. These efforts have contributed to strengthening combat readiness among the provincial armed forces, meeting mission requirements in the new context.

At the conference, delegates discussed and clarified achieved results, while identifying difficulties and limitations in grassroots-level research and compilation of military history.
Several opinions proposed solutions such as strengthening IT applications and digital transformation in the collection, preservation, and compilation of documents and prioritizing the training and professional development of personnel engaged in military history work to meet task requirements.
In his concluding remarks, Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong acknowledged and commended the achievements made over the past decade. He also requested that the Provincial Military Party Committee continue to thoroughly implement all resolutions from higher levels; promote research and compilation of high-quality, scientific, objective, and comprehensive military history works.
Additionally, he emphasized the need to enhance the application of information technology, gradually digitize historical sources, and work toward data connectivity and sharing to ensure efficient and long-term use. He also urged continued training and professional development to improve human resources, build on achievements, overcome challenges, and successfully fulfill future military history tasks.

On this occasion, the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command presented commendations to 4 collectives and 9 individuals for outstanding achievements during 10 years of implementing Resolution 984 of the Central Military Commission.
