Provincial Leaders Encourage Forces Carrying Out the 500-Day Campaign at Chau Thanh Martyrs’ Cemetery
(DTO) On the morning of June 24, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee, together with leaders of provincial departments and agencies, Dong Thap Lottery One Member Co., Ltd., and leaders of the Party Committee and People’s Committee of Phu Huu Commune, visited and encouraged officers and soldiers participating in the 500-day campaign to search for, recover, and identify the remains of fallen soldiers at Chau Thanh Martyrs’ Cemetery in Phu Huu Commune.
During the visit, Vice Chairman Huynh Minh Tuan acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility, dedication, and efforts of the officers, soldiers, and other forces involved in the mission. He emphasized that this is a task of profound political and humanitarian significance, reflecting the tradition of honoring those who came before and expressing gratitude to heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national liberation and the defense of the homeland. He also encouraged the participating forces to continue upholding their sense of responsibility, strictly follow professional procedures, and ensure thoroughness, accuracy, and safety throughout the excavation and sampling process for remains used in the identification of fallen soldiers.
According to the report, the task force at Chau Thanh Martyrs’ Cemetery has so far excavated 323 graves and collected remains samples from 248 graves. All samples have been properly managed, preserved, digitized, and temporarily stored in accordance with regulations to support DNA testing and the identification of fallen soldiers.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman Huynh Minh Tuan presented gifts to encourage the officers and soldiers on duty. Dong Thap Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. also donated 80 gift sets, including hats and raincoats, to support and encourage the forces participating in the 500-day campaign to successfully fulfill their assigned tasks.
