The Convergence of Wisdom, Will, and Aspirations of the Entire Nation
(DTO) The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam holds historic significance, as it is not only an occasion to review a past term marked by notable milestones and unprecedented events, but also transcends the framework of a regular Congress. It is the moment for our Party to establish strategic orientations for a new stage of national development.
In that context, looking back at the 13th tenure (2021-2026), we can see that over the past five years, our Party has had to confront many unprecedented challenges.
Specifically, the fight against corruption and wrongdoing has been carried out resolutely, continuously, and uncompromisingly. Violations committed by officials, including those at high levels, have been strictly handled in the spirit of “no prohibited zones, no exceptions,” creating a powerful deterrent effect and earning strong support from the people.
During this tenure, the Party also intensified efforts in Party building and rectification, streamlined the organizational apparatus, implemented the two-tier local government model, and merged provinces and cities with the aim of enhancing leadership capacity, increasing combat strength, and reorganizing the political system into a more compact, efficient, and effective structure that meets the demands of national development in the new context.
This represents a revolutionary restructuring of the organizational apparatus, steering the country toward a modern administrative system. It’s an unprecedented, historic turning point that marks a significant transition and opens a new era: the era of the national rise.
The COVID-19 pandemic was also an unprecedented global crisis, deeply affecting all aspects of social life and exerting strong negative impacts on the economy.
In this context, while many countries experienced negative growth, Vietnam still achieved positive economic growth. Social life, security, and public order were maintained, an accomplishment not every nation could achieve.
During the same period, the country also faced natural disasters and a rapidly changing, complex, unstable, and unpredictable global environment. Numerous new issues emerged, requiring urgent solutions, alongside transformative shifts of the era, clearly showing that challenges outweighed advantages. However, with firm resolve and the spirit of “acting decisively without retreat,” the entire Party, people, and army united in effort and will, overcoming hardships, tackling tasks simultaneously. As a result, during the 13th tenure, Vietnam’s economic growth for 2021-2025 averaged about 6.3% per year, placing the country among the fastest-growing economies in the region and the world.
Most importantly, in all circumstances, the nation’s independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity were firmly safeguarded. Political and social stability was maintained. National defense, security, and public order were ensured. Foreign affairs and international integration were expanded, elevated, and deepened. Vietnam’s position and prestige on the international stage continued to rise. With these achievements, international media have praised Vietnam as a “land of potential” and an “Asian miracle”.
The achievements attained during the 13th National Party Congress term have firmly strengthened the trust of officials, Party members, and the people in the Party’s leadership.
That trust was built not only on socio-economic indicators, but more importantly on the consistency between words and actions, between policies and realities, and on decisive governance paired with continuous innovation.
As the 13th National Party Congress term comes to a close, the 14th National Party Congress is about to take place. This is not merely a regular political event, but a convergence of the nation’s wisdom, will, and aspirations, affirming Vietnam’s determination to break through and accelerate in a new era, an era of national rise.
These days, the entire nation is looking toward the 14th National Party Congress with steadfast confidence that it will embody Vietnam’s political resolve and answer major questions of our time: What will be the new drivers of growth? How can the country achieve rapid and sustainable development?
At the same time, the Congress is expected to harness collective intelligence, establish strategic orientations, and shape breakthrough policies and guidelines at the macro level, helping the country continue advancing and reaching new heights.
