Vibrant Election Day in the Coastal Commune of Gia Thuan
(DTO) On March 15, joining the nationwide festive atmosphere, voters in Gia Thuan Commune, Dong Thap Province, eagerly flocked to polling stations to exercise their civic rights and duties.
From the early hours, numerous roads across the commune were adorned with vibrant flags, flowers, banners, and slogans, creating a solemn yet jubilant ambiance for the festival of democracy.
According to our reporters' observations, many voters arrived at the polling stations at daybreak. Dressed in formal attire, everyone expressed joy and excitement at being directly involved in selecting exemplary representatives to manifest their will and aspirations.

At the polling station located at Vam Lang Kindergarten, the organization was meticulously prepared. Guidance desks, voter lists, booths for writing ballots, and ballot boxes were arranged scientifically and conveniently. Election team members worked with high discipline, guiding voters through the procedures in accordance with regulations to ensure democracy, transparency, and proper sequence.

Mr. Le Van Minh (born in 1958, residing in Doi Ma 2 Hamlet, Gia Thuan Commune) shared that although life in the coastal area remains arduous with fishing and aquaculture, local residents always pay close attention to and fully participate in every election. "I always try to vote early. This is both a right and a responsibility of every citizen. I hope those elected will truly stay close to the people and listen to our thoughts and aspirations to help build a more developed homeland," Mr. Minh stated.
The atmosphere at other polling stations across Gia Thuan Commune was equally vibrant and orderly. Many voters took the opportunity to cast their ballots early before returning to their daily routines, such as heading out to sea, tending to shrimp ponds and clam farms, or managing small businesses.
It was not only the elderly who participated; many young voters expressed excitement about exercising their right to vote for the first time. Huynh Van Hiep (born in 2007, residing in Doi Ma 2 Hamlet) shared that through local awareness campaigns and family guidance, he felt confident participating in the process.
"This is the first time I have held a ballot. I feel very proud to be old enough to help decide important local matters," Hiep shared.

According to local leaders, to ensure a smooth election day, Gia Thuan Commune proactively prepared facilities, conducted communications, decorated polling areas, and provided training for election teams. Security and traffic safety measures were strictly implemented, ensuring the election was conducted safely and in accordance with regulations.
Additionally, youth union members, militia, and commune police were actively involved in guiding voters, especially the elderly or those with mobility issues. Many election teams even arranged dedicated assistants to help voters complete their ballots quickly and conveniently.
By the end of the morning, the voter turnout at many polling stations in Gia Thuan exceeded 95% (out of a total of 2,000 voters). The sense of excitement and responsibility was clearly reflected in each ballot carefully placed into the boxes.
Election Day is not only an occasion for voters to exercise their right to mastery but also a testament to the trust and expectations of coastal residents for the local development in the coming period.
