Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visits and presents gifts in Dong Thap
(DTO) On the afternoon of April 29, Vo Thi Anh Xuan—Party Central Committee Secretary and Vice State President—along with a central delegation, visited and presented gifts to policy-beneficiary families, workers, and disadvantaged students in Dong Thap Province. The visit was part of activities to celebrate the 51st anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026) and International Workers’ Day (May 1).

The ceremony was attended by: Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong—Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thien—Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and leaders of various provincial departments and agencies.


Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented symbolic boards for 200 scholarships from the National Fund for Vietnamese Children Sponsorship Council to disadvantaged students in the province. Additionally, she handed out 90 gifts to representatives of policy-beneficiary families, poor households, and workers, along with 20 gifts for children in difficult circumstances.


At the ceremony, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that Dong Thap—newly merged from the former Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces—is a land rich in patriotic traditions and revolutionary history. During the resistance wars against foreign invaders, the cadres and soldiers of Dong Thap contributed significantly to the 1975 victory. Looking ahead, she urged the province to continue its excellent work in "Gratitude and Repayment" programs for those with meritorious service to the revolution.


Earlier, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the delegation visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Huynh Thi Chinh (born 1936, residing in My Ngai Ward).


The Vice State President extended her regards and wishes for the Mother's health and longevity, expressing the profound gratitude of the Party and State for the family's immense sacrifices and contributions to the cause of national liberation.
She requested local authorities to continue providing dedicated care for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and policy-beneficiary families across the province.
